A smiling woman stands behind a table and open cardboard box, holding two Judy Blume books. More copies of the books are displayed on the table in front of her.

SO excited to see my art on these Judy Blume reissues coming out from Atheneum / Simon & Schuster Children's on August 25th, 2026:

Just As Long As We're Together and Here's To You, Rachel Robinson are just as relevant today as they were when first published, with complicated families, shifting friendships, and the chaos of growing up.

It was such a joy to work with Lauren Rille (Art Director), Hope Kim (Junior Designer), and Jin Soo Chun (Assistant Editor). See this article in Publishers Weekly as well as in my blog post where I interviewed Lauren, Hope, and Jin Soo about the process...and also talk about how one of my nieces helped me with reference photos!

I have, in fact, started several "social blogs" in the Atmosphere, leaning more toward this new kind of blogging; I'll be posting about my new approach to social media/blogging soon in my Blatherings. I love that one account can log me into all Atmosphere apps. Here's a good non-techie explainer, for those who are curious about the Atmosphere.

One of the blogs I'm most excited about is my new collaborative book blog, How Readers Find Books.

Illustration of a child lying on their back along the tip of a real-life large pencil, holding a small blue book above their face. The child wears a blue striped shirt and purple shorts, with one leg dangling over the pencil.

I have multiple goals for this blog, including:

  • Helping people find new ways to discover books

  • Helping boost these books

  • Helping boost the book boosters (librarians, educators, booksellers, book bloggers, etc)

  • Encouraging more book people people to join the Atmosphere.

I am actively looking for book bloggers, librarians, educators, and booksellers who have an Atmosphere account to contribute! Here's more info for those interested, and you can browse posts so far at https://books.leaflet.pub/.

Meanwhile, Jeff and I have moved into a rented apartment while our house is being renovated. The packing process was both illuminating and stressful. Illuminating because wow, I had a lot of stuff in my basement office! I ended up donating a lot of my children's books to The Children's Book Bank in Toronto.

I have also started playing my harp again, as well as my keyboard! Will be posting more about my musical meanderings in my Music blog.

A Celtic harp sits in an empty apartment with floor to ceiling windows behind it. View out the windows show tree tops.

Thanks for the support of me and my work! Including reading this far in my Author Newsletter. 🩷
